Hmmm... the integrity of that article seems to be of ambiguous sources ... sounds as if someone got served with a nice little subpoena from the RIAA and is trying to vent their frustrations through that acerbic article.
The RIAA would never do something so impetuous to relinquish their multitudes of revenue and harm the entertainment industry; that would be most stooopid of them. A nefarious scheme to replace our beloved Spider-man with Kutcher would undoubtedly breed antagonism. Rather, they [RIAA] would encourage people to spend frivolously on pre-fabricated "talant" like Ashlee Simpson and the like, since the industry is just really all about the 'bling-bling.' The industry should realize they're waging an impossible war where victory is inevitable as a cow jumping over the moon is... they just can't tell over 80 million people around the globe to stop using P2P... it'd be most startling if their tactics of brute force procured any substantiable results at all.

Jus my $0.02

Ha! The Hollywood crowd has been making movies the suck for decades, and this is news?

Well, I guess the Fast And The Furious crowd is in and the Gone With The Wind crowd is... um well gone with the wind

These movies that 'suck' may not appeal to, no offence intended, a stately gentleman of your age, but they're like my bread and water... I need their mind numbing influence to reduce my cognizance and bring me to a state of pure euphoria... ahhh

Probably the MPAA knows that movies with little depth in them are more marketable to us teens who don't really want a message... just drugs and violence along with a few pretty women, and call it day. As for 'predicatable plot lines,' "Hitch" was one of the most predictable movies ever, yet it hit up some big box office numbers. Still, my gf enjoyed it, and if she's happy, I'm happy

Most zealous downloaders really don't care about the content being downloaded, it's just the ideals behind 'taking a swipe at the big entertainment empires' that thrills them. However, others are just plain tired of being charged a ridiculous amount of money for movies when the entertainment moguls know damn well that they can cut down costs through alternative distribution methods through other mediums. The entertainment industry's condescending nature will in part lead them to their demise.

Sony has taken the intitiative to exploit this new explosive P2P market by commencing a service that allows you to download 50 movies (new ones added every month) and a selection of 500,000 songs for a few bux every month for prolific downloading. That's better, now we're getting somewhere....

Oh well, as Developer HorizOn stated, it a joke, but I felt the urge to ramble on anyway

Hollywood has a hit every now and then - for example: "Lord of the Rings".
